Per John at the start of Harrow the Ninth, five of them are dead, and three are still a threat leaving Alecto as one left in the Tomb. We know that he has numbered them, one through nine. There's very little information about the Beasts we know they're formed from the revenants of the planets John killed.

I think that Alecto the Ninth is the Ninth Resurrection Beast. I think it's pretty well established that Nona is Alecto, and that Alecto is the Resurrection Beast formed of Earth's revenant. At the time I just assumed that Tamsyn (or Tor.com) wanted the titles to be consistent, and kept the 'the Ninth' suffix even though Nona (and Alecto) have no connection to the Ninth House itself.īut I've been trying to align all the ordered sets of nine within the series, the nine celestial bodies, the nine Houses, the nine Saints, the original and the new nine Lyctoral candidates, the Resurrection Beasts.
